March Updates
Welcome to March! JU Women’s Parents and Friends!
I just wanted to take a few minutes to update you on all of our March events / Races for your reference. I will also update you a few days out from each regatta for logistics and viewing information. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions etc.
March 6th
Scrimmage with Villanova – LOCATION CHANGE!
Due to low water in Gainesville, FL Villanova has changed its training camp location to Lake Country Rowing in Claremont, FL. I have NO idea what the viewing looks like for this event and would not encourage you to attend. That being said as long as expectations are low feel free to show up. I know this will be treated as more of a practice meaning we will do multiple pieces however just not sure how well the viewing with be for you.
March 7th
SENIOR DAY @ Negaard Rowing Center – Jacksonville University
We are finalizing the schedule for the morning. We plan to do intra squad racing with our men’s and women’s teams between 9-10am with our senior presentation around 11am. WE HAVE NOT SET AN OFFICAL SCHEDULE so please be flexible with us, and will get this out ASAP.
50 Year Celebration of JU Women’s Rowing @ Celebrating our JU Seniors!
We would love to have you register and attend this event the evening of March 7th. 6:30-9:30pm – Live band, photo booth, food, drinks, and good times!
March 13th
RACE DAY – Orlando, FL – vs. UCF
Location – Lake Pickett – UCF Boathouse
Time – TBD – but probs 3:30-5pm
March 14th
RACE DAY – Deland, FL – vs. a few different teams
Location – Lake Beresford – Sandra Stetson Boathouse
Time – TBD – Approx 9am – 1pm
March 15th-21st
JU SPRING BREAK – JU Campus
No this is not time to party or go on vacation. Spring break = 3 practices a day + lots of team bonding!
March 27th - 28th
RACE DAY – Sarasota, FL – vs. Lots of good teams
Location – Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL
Time – Friday – 3-6:30pm / Saturday – 8am – 12pm
